About Investmatch

Investmatch is an independent comparison of Australian investment platforms. We extract the facts from each platform's own website and publish them so you can pick by what actually matters to you.

Why we exist

Most "best broker" lists in Australia are written by affiliates ranked by who pays the most commission, by sites that don't open an account with any of the brokers they review, or by reviewers comparing two platforms with vague language and no sources. Pricing changes monthly, custodian models get conflated with CHESS sponsorship, CFD providers get listed alongside real-share brokers — and the user can't tell the difference.

We built Investmatch because we wanted a tool that took our own question seriously: "For what I'm actually trying to do, which platform is right?"

What makes us different

How we stay independent

Some outbound links on Investmatch are affiliate links — platforms pay us a commission if you sign up through them. We disclose this on every page in the footer.

Affiliate compensation never influences our rankings. Rankings are derived from the verified data plus the question you asked. A platform with no affiliate program (CommSec, nabtrade, Bell Direct) sits alongside one paying us a $250 referral (eToro) ranked exactly by how well it fits your scenario. We've left the highest-paying programs out of the top spots in plenty of comparisons because the data didn't support them.

If we ever feel pressured to adjust this, we'll tell you. So far it hasn't happened — the model only works if you can trust the rankings.

The team

Investmatch is built and maintained by the Investmatch Research Team, a small Australian crew with experience in retail-investor product, data engineering, and personal finance journalism. Editorial decisions are made by the team; data extraction is automated and audited.

We're not financial advisers. Nothing on this site is a personal recommendation. Always read the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), Target Market Determination (TMD), or Financial Services Guide (FSG) before opening an account.

How we work, in detail
